Architecture is a game of light and shadow. In this hotel called "black ninja", the light and shadow effects are staged round the clock. The office space design project is located in the center of Kyoto, in the Kyoto Imperial Palace To the west of, it is surrounded by a series of residences, small shops, apartment buildings and hotels. The project base is 9 meters wide and 35 meters deep. It is very narrow and long. It can be said to be a typical Kyoto base. Here, the architect planned a five story hotel with 21 rooms. The owner of the project is from the nearby city of Kouga, which has been known as the hometown of ninjas for centuries. In other words, the owner may even be a descendant of ninjas.

So what does the word "Ninja" mean in hotel design? In the long river of history, ninjas have always lived in the dark. When people mention ninjas, they always think of "shadow". They hide in the dark and perform their tasks in the dark. At this point, the design concept of this hotel was born - "shadow": Architects hope to build it into a mysterious, quiet, but not negligible space.

The facade design of the hotel focuses on the creation of shadows, symbolizing that ninjas can hide anywhere. The entire facade is covered by a Japanese louver called "Koushi". At the same time, eave elements are added to the first floor, the second floor and the top floor space, but in spite of this, the louvers on the facade still occupy an absolutely dominant position.

In fact, the entire facade of the hotel design is composed of two layers of Japanese shutters inside and outside. Each layer is equipped with an alternating V-shaped pattern. The V-shaped patterns of the upper, lower and inner and outer layers are staggered by half a span, thus deepening the shadow of the facade. One side of each individual shutter component is painted brown, while the front and the other side are painted black. In this way, the hotel will show different visual effects as people change their location - when people come from the East, they will think it is a brown hotel building, and when they arrive, the whole building will show a black visual effect.

The interior space design of the hotel revolves around the concept of "darkness", and the architects try their best to express this concept incisively and vividly through modern design techniques. In this hotel, visitors can experience the life of Ninja at any time. For example, a pit like a trap is set at the front desk of the hotel lobby, with 50 spikes installed at the bottom of the pit. Of course, the pit is covered with thick glass. When passengers check in, they are often frightened by this deep pit, but after the shock, there are endless surprises.

After the Ninja like staff are in place, the revolving door will quickly close and return to the invisible state. The hotel staff are dressed like ninjas, so that the passengers can quickly integrate into their roles. On the wall of the main passage on the first floor, the passengers will see a flash of Ninja silhouettes from time to time, which It is a part of the hotel design.
