AM DESIGN：Modernist style resort hotel reconstruction design

The company, an interdisciplinary architecture and design company based in New York, recently completed the interior design of the new virgin hotel in Las Vegas. The original project is a hard stone hotel, which redesigns the concept of space to make it look new.

The virgin hotel in Las Vegas is miles from the iconic Las Vegas Boulevard. In order to highlight this separated area, it is planned to create a luxury destination and integrate it into the surrounding desert terrain in a pure and sculptural form.

The new entrance welcomes tourists into the space with a commemorative rammed earth wall, a dune like cactus garden and a cinder wall with a strong sense of geometry. The most dramatic component at the entrance of the car is an angular canopy covered with gold reflective metal plates. The border of the gate is inlaid with red tiles, which represents the brand characteristics of virgin and contrasts with the surrounding neutral rammed earth wall.

A more private space is set up at the edge of the area, called harmony hall, including VIP check-in area and bar. In front of the wooden screen, there is a long public library table with a record player and headphones, inviting tourists to stay here. All spaces are integrated by the arched ceiling covered with mirror in the middle, and the acrylic chandelier seems to float in the air.

Next to the club is the restaurant of the same name. The bench in the center of the space is made of light colored wooden frame, with sunken cork ceiling and chandelier above. The dining table is unexpectedly made of wood strips of terrazzo, and the seats at the edge of the restaurant are set in niches, with artistic decoration and details made of cinder blocks.

It is a casual and luxurious bar and lounge that people can enter through a photo booth. There are purplish red plush seats and benches in the space, plush carpets are laid on the ground, and a sunken conversation area is in the middle. The Persian carpet hangs from the ceiling, and the main bar is hidden behind this dramatic curtain.
