What kind of hotel can make you fall in love with a city? Good hotel space design is a landmark of the city, which makes people here feel the romantic elegance in the air. It seems that the local conditions and customs of the city. Each hotel space has its own story.
The architectural design of the hotel aims to create an urban oasis in downtown Vancouver: PARQ building. The building includes a 72000 square foot casino, two luxury hotels, eight different types of restaurants, a fitness and spa center, a 30000 square foot roof Park, and 60000 square feet of advanced meeting space and activity venues. Maxime Frappier, the chief architect of the project, said: "PARQ building has re established the connection between the active gymnasium area and the downtown entertainment area. In addition to playing a role in this, our design will fully capture and display the characteristics of the city and highlight its amazing natural environment."
The hotel space design uses a series of lines, shapes, radians and slopes to create a diverse facade, while responding to the complex environment around it. The smooth outline and dynamic posture reflect the city's iconic mountains, valleys, valleys and oceans. The glass curtain wall of the main facade presents a color similar to that of copper. The shimmering metal shutters are arranged according to the pixelated mountain pattern. With the exposure and movement of the sun, they are constantly changing throughout the day, just like dancing over the Pacific Ocean.
The seamless connection between the interior and exterior of the hotel building further highlights the superiority of the design. The clear and transparent oversized glass connects the internal users with the external vibrant streets and the bicycle lanes around the urban area. At the same time, it attracts passers-by to enter the building and enjoy the food of eight restaurants and various leisure facilities. The commercial space brings more vitality to the first floor. The sunny interior space is like greeting the guests and inviting them to try their luck in the 72000 square foot multi-storey casino. The hotel's interior space design casino includes 11 private salons, 4 of which have open-air balconies to enjoy the stunning urban skyline landscape. Hotel space design is also committed to providing commercial development space. The fourth floor of the building has more than 60000 square feet of multi-functional conference and activity space, including conference room, flexible assembly space and 13 banquet halls - the most distinctive is PARQ grand banquet hall, which has become the largest hotel banquet hall in Vancouver with an area of 15604 square feet.
The exterior design of the hotel was built according to LEED gold standard. The landmark outdoor park on the sixth floor has an area of 30000 square feet, and is planted with more than 200 native pine trees and 15000 local plants. The Nordic plant communities and beautiful mountain scenery make the roof Park temporarily "disconnected" from the surrounding environment, bringing a quiet treasure land away from the noise over the city.
Another hotel is the Douglas Hotel newly selected in the autograph collection, which forms a seamless connection with the magnificent natural environment around the hotel building. Douglas Hotel has 188 rooms, including 7 deluxe suites and 3 penthouse suites. Each guest room adopts warm color wooden interior elements and workbench lighting, and provides high-grade natural washing and care products. The lobby of the hotel space design is located on the sixth floor, connected with the roof Park of the building, so it is full of natural atmosphere. The walls covered with green plants and the 25 foot fir trees show the gesture of welcoming guests. The adjacent d/6 bar and lounge will also provide a series of unique hand-made cocktails.
The building is far more than a multi-functional complex. It also shows respect for the whole city of Vancouver and its natural environment, as well as the architectural vision of making the project complement and develop with the surrounding environment.
